What if I hit the 5-recording free limit and don't want to upgrade?
You can keep using Cassette forever on Free — the limit resets the 1st of every month. Your existing library stays. We'll never charge a card you didn't enter.
Can I cancel and keep my library?
Yes. Cancel any time. Your asset library exports as a single .zip with markdown, plain text, and JSON. Your stuff is your stuff.
Why is browser transcription free but Whisper is paid?
Browser-native SpeechRecognition is free for us — it runs on your device. Whisper is a third-party API we pay per minute. The Creator plan covers our cost; Free stays free because it's a different code path.
Do you offer annual pricing?
Yes — annual saves 20% (Creator $190/yr, Studio $790/yr). Just reach out: hello@cassette.fm.
Education or non-profit pricing?
50% off Creator and Studio for verified .edu and 501(c)(3) accounts. Email us with your domain.
What happens to my data?
On Free: transcripts are sent to our generation endpoint and not retained — only the assets are returned. On Creator/Studio: your library is encrypted at rest in our database and never used to train models.
